Earthlings reactions

                                                                Earthlings

“If we had to kill our own meat we would all be vegetarians.” This is true.

In the Earthlings video on YouTube I found it very disturbing to watch. The first part was emotional and the second part was gruesome. The way pets, animals such as strays are killed is brutal.  A puppy killed alive was thrown into a garbage truck and squished with the rest of the Garbage. Animals are forced to breed and then end up being sold to pounds or shelters. Their outcome they may later be killed or die due to starvation, ending up homeless, not being sold, not enough room in the shelter home or pound. As far as our food it’s disgusting, of we had to actually kill our own meat for food we would not be eating meat. Humans are not heartless corporations and people are. This video brings out the neglect that we citizens use so much. We neglect to realize what happens and though we know we turn a blind eye to what is happening for our satisfaction. I understand that corporations and the government have control over this but we do as well and if we would get together and stand on the right grounds in this issue we can make a change. Animal rights are being violated. If a corporation can be human and have rights why not an animal.

This video made me cry the animals are suffering for our satisfaction.  It is no longer satisfying if the animal I eat went through pain. Veil the animals are taken from their moms 3days after birth. They are denied the proper nutrition to grow and soon after killed for profit. We are eating this. Locked in cages stuck together these animals have no way out and no freedom no sunlight no happiness. They eat and sleep in feces and the pigs teeth are pulled out. The squealing pigs cries still ring in my air. Animal cruelty happens in the fast food nation and we do nothing about it. This movie clip shows it all and it’s pretty disgusting gruesome and cruel. It leads me to the question will they ever do this to a human being? At this point in time with all my knowledge on it I wouldn’t doubt it. We are one screw loose away from cannibalism.

This is a must see. Hard to watch but must see.
Do you know what the world really is? how the world really treats its people
This video shows how we treat eachother and accept it as life. The cycle all repeats itself
everything that is going on we turn a blind eye to it but look what its doing
look where we were and where we are today.
Is this right? Ask yourself that.
I vote not

Hidden Danger

In schlosser's 'Fast Food Nation", Chapter five why the fries taste so good; the key word i had pulled out was hidden danger. Hidden danger meaning; what is bad for us is acceptable to our taste buds. When a red flag should be waving in our brain it is not going off because to us these harmful chemicals taste good. Could it be because the Fast Food Industry uses the three main taste that humans accept are sweet salty and fat? could it be that the covering the salt with cheese makes it addicting to us? Our tongue uses taste buds as danger receptors, yet while we are eating this food we are being blinded by the taste to real dangers. This is so because through the genetically engineering of these foods the taste becomes natural to us. The psychology of it all is that we see a lot of people eating the food so we think it's safe, ads being shown on the tv, give us the thought it will make us happy. We have our trust. on impulse we eat this food without thinking and this is dangerous illusions does not occur to us. These corporations are able to make a profit off our cravings through our trust and instant gratification.

Reading arguments

The Government get its power from the people. The Government then grants the corporations unlimited power and turns their backs on them, when they do something that is wrong and claim to be doing it for the peoples best interest. The corporations make their own rule and support a dictators actions. The dictators exercise their power in a cruel way. The dictator stands on the supply that both the corporations and Government want. I can connect this to the reading of Resource Wars by Micheal T. Klare, a book about the future of warfare and predicts conflicts that will arise over our most precious resources.  I can also connect this to Crude Worlds, a reading that discusses the oil spill in the gulf of Mexico and brings attention to our costs of oil dependence.  All these play hand in hand together for one main purpose Oil, and then power, and control. We have rights but no say in what happens. Its like voting and our vote not counting, because the person that the government or corporations want in power will get in power anyway; just because they want them in power. Interesting how Thomas Jefferson, said man is free; but yet we have no power, nor say or control in the big decision making for the country as a whole.
Control is being manipulated. In resource wars Obiang, attended a private Washington luncheon organized by the corporate council in Africa, which was held at a Army and Navy club. Obiang is a dictator, who was invited by the corporations, to sit around a table with the board of directors for the corporations; and the government. In  "Fast Food Nation", by  Schlosser he mentions how the corporations manager said  "our competitors, are our friends (input book page number). The government should not be working with a dictator and corporations to help its citizen. Many would ask how is the government, really helping their citizens out by working with people who exercise their power ruthlessly.A decision for the people was not made by the people, but it was made for the people by the government the corporations and the dictator.
Corporate dominance rule our people. In crude world we have control through influence, the government supports the dictator the dictator supports the corporations the corporations support the government and they all benefit from eachother. This is supposed to be a win win situation, but if the people have no say are not our rights and our voices being manipulated if its the government saying so? Again the bill of rights come in where
We have no control because our government is sitting at a table, with the dictator and corporations influencing government decisions. The government is not sitting at a table with we the people making decisions but them three are. In the citizens united vs. Federal Election campaign advertising are being put up by corporations; but due to the fact that in the case of Kasky vs. Nike the issue of corporate personhood arises. Corporate personhood is an unofficial law that states that corporations are people. This granting them the right as humans in the bill of rights.
They are making the decisions and making us think we have a say in something that happens by giving us the right to vote. But when we vote we are being manipulated into voting for the elector who said the prettiest believable lies, that person also uses the corporations to support their campaigns. Obama got elected because so many were making songs about him our minds were being influenced that Obama was the way. We belived the pretty commercials and the untold lies that are made to be truths

Immigration

Though i was not present for the immigration pane, nor do I really have a decent amount of knowledge on immigration or what it feels like to be one. I will say i believe i can relate to what i have heard about immigration. When someone is considered an immigrant they are treated like outsiders by the government, and not neccesarily the people. They have different rules to follow as well as the ones alredy set for the state. They also have restrictions to some extent, such as the right to vote after a couple of years of being a citizen. I dont know what it truly means to be an immingran, and i dont know how it feels. My guess is that they are being treated unfairly and its becomming a bigger issue everyday.

Womens rights

I am doing a research paper on womens rights. I feel it would be interesting to see just how differently women are treated in diferent societies. Though women gianed thier rights in the 1920's, we are still treated unfairly in society, especially when it comes to working and even still education. I want to know why? I want to see if there is a way that we can change this. I also just want to research this topic beuase we women are limited in a male dominated society and i feel that this is enslavement in a way. Men made our laws and any women in politics has to go to a man in charge with power to get an action that has to deal with the country approved.  But in diferent societeis women are treated different. Based on the overall culture women are treated either as if they dont exist or like queens. There was a time when in Afrieca their women ruled like Queens and thier men as ings there was a respect for the opposing gender. My paper will point out the differences of the womens role in culture society and politics.
